In conjunction to 494th Jakarta Anniversary which falls on 22 June 2021, Mangrove Jakarta Community takes this moment by hosting an art workshop and collaborating with Betawi Cultural Village, Setu Babakan. Not only Ondel-ondel making trainer will be invited to this workshop, but also Mr. Sarnadi Adam, the famous Betawi painter and this event will take a place at Momiji Restaurant – ASTON Simatupang.
Instead of environmental movement, this community tries to work in different way by offering art workshop to the community members. The members will be challenged to make The Betawi Icon puppet and Mr. Sarnadi Adam will give historical presentation about Betawi or Jakarta. During this pandemic, this event will be limited for public because of this pandemic and of course, health protocols will be prioritized, all participants should wear mask all the time and clean their hand before the event starts.
Paundra Hanutama, The founder of this community stated “We hope that we can deliver fun and educative events to community members or even to public, but we have to limit the participant quota because of the pandemic but nothing to be worry because we will follow the health protocols that government issued”. “Happy anniversary to Jakarta, we all hope that this pandemic will be over soon”.
