Yayasan Mangrove Indonesia Lestari is proud to announce the launch of the Mangrove Impact Fellowship 2026, a groundbreaking one-month international volunteering program designed to bring together global participants to engage in mangrove conservation, field-based activities, and cross-cultural collaboration in Indonesia.

The fellowship is set to take place from 7-8 February 2026 (online) and 10-12 February 2026 (on-site) in Jakarta, Indonesia. The program will allow participants aged 18-35 years old from Bangladesh, Germany, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam to immerse themselves in mangrove ecosystems, learn about coastal resilience, and experience the importance of global collaboration.
As the Founder and Event Chair of the fellowship, Paundra Hanutama, also known as Bapak Mangrove Indonesia, a prominent environmental leader, emphasizes the importance of this initiative: “Mangrove ecosystems are critical to the environment and the people who depend on them. Through the Mangrove Impact Fellowship 2026, we aim to create lasting, positive impacts by uniting passionate individuals from around the world to collaborate on restoring and preserving these ecosystems. We believe in the power of youth, knowledge sharing, and action to foster a sustainable future for mangroves and coastal communities.”

The program also offers participants the chance to gain a certificate and build a portfolio-ready output while making a tangible contribution to environmental sustainability. The initiative also aims to enhance global networking by connecting participants with leaders and experts in the field of environmental conservation.
The Mangrove Impact Fellowship 2026 is supported by the Ministry of Forestry, Indonesia and in collaboration with various partners, including Schiller International University Paris and The Acacia Jakarta. The fellowship is open to individuals who have a strong interest in environmental issues, global collaboration, and a desire to make a difference in mangrove conservation.
